Teaching a pup to settle in new environments

I went camping with little Bailey Bailey yesterday. Now, I want her to be relatively chilled out when camping. I don't want her running around annoying other campers! So, I started creating a conditioned emotional response to the environment. I also don't want her to get into a habit of following me around all the time. It's vital to teach young pups that it's not only okay, but it's good to be on their own from time to time. It will help with any future separation issues.
